Matt grew up in London and fell in love with film from an early age. After dropping out of art school he found himself at Pinewood Studios on a commercial shoot and quickly realized he wanted to be a cinematographer. After starting his career with Ridley Scott and Associates in London and then New York, he eventually arrived in Los Angeles where he began working as a loader and camera assistant with some of the most respected cinematographers and directors in TV and Film. After many successful years in the camera department, from loader to operator, Matt started applying his craft and developing his own style of shooting for such clients as Apple, Visa and BMW. Drawn towards powerful images and original storytelling. Collaborating with directors and in house creatives is where Matt thrives, bringing his experience and passion for visual storytelling to each project, whether on commercials, documentaries, branded content or narrative films. When not on set, Matt enjoys traveling, hiking in the mountains with his dog Burt or attempting to master the perfect roast chicken recipe.
